Square Enix has been keeping mum about the release date of the much-anticipated game "Kingdom Hearts 3." Finally, the game developer unveiled the trailer last Saturday, December 19.
Several gaming news outlets stated that the new trailer featured both "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" as the company's early Christmas gift. Gamespot reported that it was released during the Jump Festa event in Japan.
Fans, however, were kind of disappointed since the new trailer did not spill fresh information about the games. As a matter of fact, the trailer looked very alike to what was shown last month at D23.
"Kingdom Hearts 2.8" was featured for a total of three minutes and 37 seconds, wherein some gameplay were shown. The short clip also hinted the fans that there will be someone who will be betraying in the game series. After seeing the teaser, fans became more curious as to what were the occurrences that happened to Aqua while he's in the Realm of Darkness.
On the other hand, "Kingdom Hearts 3" was only featured for more than one minute and a few seconds. Battles in "Tangled" and "Hercules" worlds were shown as well as the shooting ride attack which is based on Buzz Lightyear of "Toy Story." Watch the trailer below this article.
Meanwhile, Tetsuya Nomura explained that Pinocchio's World was supposed to appear in "Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days." However, it was removed due to space restrictions.
"Set in a circus and playing off the story of Pinocchio, a puppet with a heart, and the Nobodies who possess no heart, we planned for a sad episode with Roxas and Xion looking for hope for themselves," Nomura explained of the planned plot.
It was also stated that the world of Pinocchio would include the wooden character, which will appear as human, and Geppetto. Villains Gideon and Honest John could also have been included in it.
