The Final Fantasy 7 remake was unveiled during the E3 2015 with a trailer. Although not loaded with actual information, Sony confirmed the remake is happening and coming "first" in PlayStation 4.
In an exclusive interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, Final Fantasy 7 Remake director's Tetsuya Nomura and Yoshinori Kitase shared tidbits and few details on the highly anticipated game, including the fact that the game will be fully voiced. "Basically, it will be fully voiced. We still haven't decided the voices of the characters that weren't in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children." according to Nomura as translated by Gematsu. Dating events will also be fully voiced like everything else.
According to Kitase, "It would be impossible not to. However, since it's different from that time and social situation, we need to implement the reproduction of original events carefully," in reference to the Honey Bee Inn quest that features contents considered too steamy for the final release of the game.
The developers did not reveal whether or not the game is an open-world or sandbox, but they said that the team is focusing on creating environments that will react to character actions. Square Enix did confirm that some of the mini-games from the original Final Fantasy 7 will be seen in the remake. "There were a lot of things from big to small, but we need to consider a bit whether it's necessary to create them all with the latest technology," Nomura said.
There is still no specific release date announced for the remake. This left avid Final Fantasy fans more excited about the game. When asked about a possible 2017 release in time for the original franchise's 20th anniversary, Nomura said he intends to wait until the release of PS4 games Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and World of Final Fantasy in 2016 before releasing new information about the remake.
