Vin Diesel confirmed that fans should wait for the next installment of "Fast and Furious" back in April. However, up until now, there are no updates yet as to who are the new and returning characters set to take place then the much-awaited franchise returns.
While fans were mourning the untimely death of Paul Walker, they also thought that the "Furious" gang will never be complete again. Luckily, the production team was able to find a solution on how to bring Brian O'Connor back to life - through CGI.
However, the question now is: will fans see the well-love character in "Fast Furious 8"? Unluckily, it seemed like there will be no more sign of Brian in the sequel as Paul had already moved on.
"We're lucky that we have a lot of great characters. Unfortunately, we don't have Paul anymore. His character... has moved on. But we feel like there's a lot still to be mined," "Fast and Furious" franchise producer Neal H. Mortiz said in a statement. "That's where we're starting. We're really talking about the characters, where they all sit right now. It's a huge challenge."
While fans are taking down their expectations with Brian's return, some reports claimed that he will be back in the "Fast and Furious 8" as multiple flashback scenes will be shown. If these parts will have to go through CGI gain, then, it could mean that Paul's younger brother Cody Walker might reprise the role.
Meanwhile, Pop Sugar noted that the stars who are reprising their roles include Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Kurt Russell and Michelle Rodriguez. Moreover, along with Cody, multi-awarded English actress Helen Mirren and blockbuster actor Matt Damon were also reported to be joining "Fast and Furious 8." However, there are official announcement yet as of press time.
It was Vin who confirmed that "Fast and Furious 8" is happening. "Well, I was trying to keep it close to the vest throughout the release. Paul [Walker] used to say that eight was guaranteed. And in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you sometimes feel like you have to make sure it comes to pass," he told MTV News. "So, if fate has it - fate, F8 - then you'll get it. 'Furious 7′ was for Paul; 8 is from Paul."
