Several gamers went berserk when "Red Dead Redemption" was released. As a matter of fact, its popularity went beyond everybody's expectations that most gamers would demand for more.
Known to have been well-received by fans shortly after its release, its developer did not think twice to decide whether or not a sequel should be made. In fact, just recently, Rockstar co-founder Straus Zelnick announced that fans should wait for the debut of "Red Dead Redemption 2" as it is happening very soon.
"We've launched one new successful franchise every year and I would like to keep doing that particularly because I talk about permanent franchises, but not everything is going to be a permanent franchise," the Rockstar CEO divulged in an interview with VG347, hinting that "Red Dead Redemption" will be made into a permanent franchise.
"It's obvious that 'GTA' is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that 'Red Dead' is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or 'Borderlands,' for example, and 'NBA' and others," Straus added via Crossmap.
Meanwhile, the hype of the forthcoming installment "Red Dead Redemption 2" went alive again when a reportedly former employee from the company leaked some details of the game's sequel. Posted on Reedit, a user named AnonDN1978 said that John Marston will no longer be included in the sequel and new characters will be added in the game.
Aside from that major bombshell, the anonymous source said that the title of the upcoming game sequel will be "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West." However, up to this writing, no official word from Rockstar has been released yet. Hence, fans should wait!
Crossmap previously reported that there will be an expansion on the map of "Red Dead Redemption 2." Several players speculated that a few states from the East will be included in the map extension, aside from some parts in the West side. However, again, Rockstar did not name the places to be incorporated in the succeeding installment yet.
