As far as the public knows, Apple and Samsung have been competing with each other for the longest time. Now, in the latest chapter of this competition, Samsung has released their new "phablet," the A9.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 was recently released in an event in China with a slated release date of mid-January 2016 in Chinese markets. However, there has yet to be an official announcement of when the A9 will be released in other countries.
One of the most noticeable features of this new smartphone and tablet hybrid is its 6-inch screen, which is larger than most smartphones on the market today. It also has a noticeably longer battery life due to its new, non-removable battery. In an article posted on Zee News, it is said that so far there has only been a 32 GB model announced but this can be expanded to 128 GB with the use of micro SD cards.
The A9 phablet performs better compared to a number of its predecessors. It runs on Android Lollipop 5.1, powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor. It also has a massive 3 GB of RAM to boot. Some of the other features on this phone include a fingerprint scanner as well as support for Samsung Pay. A lot of people will be glad to know that the Samsung Galaxy A9 also sports a 13-megapixel camera.
According to the phone comparison website Phone Arena, "The Galaxy A9 is considered the high-end of the Galaxy A series and was put through the AnTuTu benchmark test. The result was a score of 73,592." AnTuTu measures the performance of phones based on a number of factors such as its CPU and processing power. A score of 73,592 puts the A9 in the official AnTuTu top ten list along with other flagship smartphones such as the Sony Xperia Z5 and the HTC One M9.
