When pregnant CNN news anchor Poppy Harlow passed out while she was live on air this past Monday, it was a lot of cause for concern. Luckily, after all was said and done, Harlow and her unborn child both came out of the incident unharmed.
When she was presenting "CNN Newsroom Weekend," nothing seemed off from her usual weekend afternoon. However, during the broadcast, she began slurring. The show was followed by just background noises and breathing sounds and afterward, it was abruptly cut. A car commercial followed shortly after.
Thankfully, doctors got to her immediately and she was treated as soon as possible. The pregnant anchor went back to the news desk shortly after and resumed her broadcast. "For all of you on Twitter who are asking if I'm OK, thank you so much. I got a little hot and I passed out for a moment. I am fine. We're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back," Harlow told viewers as quoted on Newsday.
A lot of people posted words of concern for Harlow on social media. Twitter users especially were quick to ask about the news anchor's condition during the show's unscheduled commercial break. "Update from the hospital -- our little girl due this spring is doing just fine. Was a scare but we are both ok. Thank you all so much," Harlow tweeted from her official account. She also thanked the CNN team and told viewers that she was only passed out for a brief period.
Last November, Harlow and her husband Sinisa Babcic announced that they were expecting their first child together. "We could not be more thrilled to have a little girl on the way," she told Adweek. Harlow says that she believes her child is a blessing and she is excited for the adventure that is motherhood.
