Miss Universe 2015: Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez Says ‘If That Was The Goal, They Succeeded’; Brunette Beauty Responded To $1 M Adult Film Offer

If you think the whole Miss Universe 2015 fiasco is finally over, you are probably very wrong. Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez has opened up about the faux pas in the announcement of the winner during the coronation night last Sunday, Dec. 20.

The 21-year-old brunette beauty told Colombia's W radio that no one can ever take away the less than five minutes during which she wore the sought-after crown and sash. "It was very humiliating for me, but also for the whole country and for all the people not only from Colombia but the other Latinos that were in the auditorium," Ariadna said during the interview.

To recall, Miss Colombia was mistakenly crown during the Miss Universe 2015 coronation night at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Host Steve Harvey misread the cue cards and announced that Ariadna won the prestigious title. However, he later announced that the crown actually belonged to Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

Ariadna admitted that the awkward moment was very humbling for her and to other Latinos watching the pageant. She added that she was telling herself at that time that Steve is just cracking a joke during the live TV broadcast.

"This is going to be a joke, because in the rehearsals he used to play around with questions and I thought he was going to continue with that same tone to make people laugh," Ariadna recalled thinking.

The whole scandal stirred Miss Universe fans and supporters alike especially after several reports claiming that the whole blunder was a rating and publicity stunt. "If that was the goal, they succeeded," Miss Colombia said.

Ariadna also responded to reports of her being offered a whopping $1 million to do an adult film. She said "my parents would kill me" and later clarified that she has not yet received an official offer.

Meanwhile, aside from Ariadna, fellow Latina contestants of Miss Universe 2015 confessed that they were disappointed of the gaffe. As a matter of fact, International Design Times reported that Miss Costa Rica Brenda Castro, Miss Mexico Wendy Esparza, Miss Puerto Rico Catalina Morales and others got frustrated after the epic mistake in announcing the winner was made.
