Several fans are now excited to watch the upcoming third installment of the blockbuster musical-drama film "Pitch Perfect." New reports claimed that the production team of "Pitch Perfect 3" is now preparing for its filming.
"Pitch Perfect" lead actress Rebel Wilson revealed last November when she appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that the production of the "Pitch Perfect 3" will kickoff in the early months of 2016. The 35-year-old Aussie actress is set to make a comeback as Fat Amy together with other Barden Bellas members Beca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick) and Chloe Beale (Brittany Snow).
Entertainment Tonight reported that "Pitch Perfect 3" will be released on August 7, 2017. The film was originally slated to premiere in theaters on July 21, 2017, but it was moved due to some production glitches of "Pacific Rim 2."
Aside from Wilson, Kendrick and Snow, Elizabeth Banks will also be back as director for "Pitch Perfect 3." Together with Brownstone Productions' Alex Handelman and Gold Circle Entertainment's Paul Brooks, she will also be back as one of the producers. Also, Kay Cannon, who wrote the scripts of the first two installments, will reprise her role as the writer of the second sequel.
By far, it remains unknown yet whether or not other cast members will make their return for "Pitch Perfect 3." Hence, members of the "Pitch Perfect" fandom will have to wait until official words from the production are released.
Meanwhile, there are reports which claimed that Hailee Steinfeld will be the new leader of the squad. Playing the role of Emily Junk, ET shared that the 19-year-old star will be back to lead the new Barden Bellas with the help Kendrick, Wilson and Snow.
As a matter of fact, Hailee agreed to reprise her role last August, as per MTV News. "I can't wait! It's all happening," she excitedly said at the time.
