'Final Fantasy 15' Release Date & Trailer: Square Enix Confirms 2016 Gameplay Release on Xbox One, PS4; Concept Follows Around Taking A Journey? -- What We Know So Far

Fans of the popular video game "Final Fantasy" is getting more and more excited each passing day for the release of its latest installment. New reports now claimed that "Final Fantasy 15" is coming this 2016 which made fans more excited to play the game.

Game director Hajime Tabata was the one who declared that "Final Fantasy 15" will be released this year. "We will finally release FFXV this year, in 2016! In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength," he wrote in the Square Enix blog. "However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower."

Though there was no official release date announced yet, Tabata assured that the developers are doing their best to ensure that fans will have something to relish and revel in. "I vow to you all that every member in the team will do their best to the very last possible moment taking responsibility and pride in their craft," he added. "We will do everything we can do to finish FFXV to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure."

Cinema Blend reported that the speculations that the "Final Fantasy 15" will be out by 2017 sparked after a trailer of the game was released sometime in September. The entertainment news outlet even shared at that time that Amazon Japan has already set the date to June 1, but official word from Square Enix suggested that it will not be available until March 2016.

"Final Fantasy 15" will be available for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. According to Gamespot, it will take cues from "Final Fantasy Versus 13." It was also stated that additional elements were added to fit the console's capability despite the fact that Square Enix decided to retain the original gameplay.

"We considered what was possible with the new-gen hardware, as well as what elements absolutely must be included in XV but might fall through if not given top priority," Tabata said in a statement. In another interview, he confessed that the concept of the game follows around taking a journey. "The game was built upon the idea of a road movie to some degree, converting that concept to a game and being able to experience it," he said in another interview with Game Informer last September.
