Popular Diets This 2016 for Quick and Easy Weight Loss

There is no question that the most popular New Year's resolution every year is a combination of exercising more, eating healthier, and losing weight. This is why a lot of people look far and wide for the perfect diet that would suit their needs.

The number one factor people look for in these diets is which one of the diets will help them lose weight the fastest. The U.S. News and World Report has recently added a "Fast Weight-Loss Diet" category to its yearly ranking of the best diet plans out there right now.

Among these fast weight loss diets, the most popular, and seemingly the most effective, is the one known as HMR or the Health Management Resources Program. Although it sounds fancy and highly technical, the HMR diet is actually quite simple.

"HMR is a meal replacement diet that can be done on your own at home or under medical supervision in a clinic," According to Allison Aubrey of NPR and KBPS. "In lieu of made-at-home meals, dieters can order low-calorie shakes, soups, nutrition bars and multi-grain cereal."

One of the biggest advantages to the HMR diet is that it is a quick-start option to dieting. It also has the added convenience of the food getting delivered right to dieting person at the right time of the day.

Although proven effective, there are still some downsides to the diet. Some critics argue that meal replacement diets are not for everybody. Replacing a meal a day with a shake may leave people craving for more. This is why some say that a slow and steady approach is better for weight loss.

The DASH diet is one of these slower approaches. It was originally designed to help people with high blood pressure. The DASH diet focuses on eating vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
