Pop superstar Janet Jackson recently cancelled her tour that was about to kick off on January 9. Rumor has it that the ticket sales were dropping low that's why the singer just decided to call it off. However, according to a report published by Yahoo! News, the singer is recently undergoing some tests, as doctors found tumor on her throat, affecting her performance and work.
This is not the first time that Jackson cancelled her tour because, back in October, she had to call it off again since her doctor also asked her to take a break, as her vocal chords need some rest.
It has been a while since the singer has hit the stage and has engaged with fans on her tour. It's been almost half a decade since she last did it and now fans are even more worried if her current health condition would affect her singing career.
It is also not true that fans are no longer attending her shows; in fact Forbes reported that she could still sell about $200 for the presale of her show. That alone could stand that music enthusiasts are still embracing Jackson until today.
For those who are spreading rumors about the pop star's fading career, critics would oppose to those false statements because a lot of people in the industry could still say that her show is a must-see. Eve Barlow, a known critic of Billboard Magazine, is still convinced of Jackson's star power the minute she starts making her moves on stage. Her connection to the crowd, according to Barlow, "goes beyond music."
Janet Jackson has made its way to the top not just because of her famous late brother Michael Jackson, but she did it on her own by showing her skills and talent since releasing Rhythm Nation.
