Highlights From The 2016 People's Choice Awards; Chris Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, And Meghan Trainor Big Winners

The People's Choice Awards just recently concluded and there were a lot of big winners and also a lot of highlights. Noteworthy performances in music, movies, and television were given proper recognition during the awarding ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

The ceremony began with a song and dance performance by Jane Lynch, star of "Angel from Hell." "I wonder who will win? Stand up and choose with me," she sang to the tune of Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance."

"Should I choose Pratt or R.D.J? Meryl Freakin' Streep or Anne Hathaway? Should I whip or should I nae nae," she continues while still keeping to the tune of the 2015 hit. Jack Black, wearing a mask, and Kate Hudson then took the stage after Lynch's introduction. They announced the winner of Favorite Comedic Movie Actress, which Melissa McCarthy won for the second year in a row.

Lea Michele and Adam Devine presented Favorite Action Movie Actor to "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth, who then thanked his multitude of fans. "It's a pretty special thing being able to go to work each day and not feel like work and instead feel like a childhood dream," Hemsworth said. While announcing the nominees for the award, Devine took the time to compliment Chris Pratt's "sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet abs."

Chris D'Elia and Christina Milian presented the award for Breakout Artist to Shawn Mendes. Then the female "Grease Live!" stars presented the award for Favorite Album to Meghan Trainor for her chart-topping release "Title."

Multiple news outlets such as CBS News and Entertainment Weekly took note of the show's ode to the recently concluded Miss Universe Pageant. Lynch presented an award for Tom Lennon and then corrected herself by saying that the actual winner was Miss Colombia. Lennon pretended to cry as a fake Miss Colombia took the stage.
