Although the release date of “Frozen 2” is slated not until 2018, multiple speculations on the casting and plot have started to circulate online. The sequel will reportedly focus on Olaf, voiced by Josh Gad, and his new love interest.
According to The Telegraph, Anna's trusted sidekick Olaf will finally get his turn in the spotlight. Turns out, Queen Elsa is not the only one who will get to meet his match in the sequel. The outlet further pointed out that giving Olaf a lady friend will definitely help boost sales of "Frozen" merchandise -- not that it needed help.
Meanwhile, both Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, who played Anna and Elsa, respectively, will also be returning to the highly-anticipated sequel. Given that the 2013 blockbuster has been named the highest-grossing animated film of all time, it is not a surprise that the actors will be coming back for more.
"Frozen" has earned a whopping $400 million in the box office to date. Recent rumors suggest that both Bell and Menzel are trying to ask for a pay upgrade. The publication pointed out that they definitely had the leverage and could ask for almost any amount they want. The outlet also slammed rumors claiming that Elsa will die in the sequel.
In other news, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is reportedly joining the cast of "Frozen 2." According to Christian Today, when Disney artist Jimmy Mulligan shared a video of him sketching the beauty queen on his iPad Pro, fans immediately started to point out that she looked like a Disney princess herself.
The following day, Mulligan shared the finished drawing of Wurtzbach, looking like a brunette version of Elsa. He also included the hashtag "Frozen" in his post, which drove the fans wild. It, however, has yet to be confirmed if she will be part of the sequel.
"Frozen 2" is set to hit theatres early 2018.
