American Idol has been on the air for more than a decade and Ryan Seacrest has hosted it for 13 years running. The final season of the reality show/talent competition has already begun and Seacrest revealed who he believes is the greatest "American Idol" to ever win the competition
Keep in mind that all of the winners and even the runner-ups of the hit show are very talented and went on to have great careers, selling millions of albums and singles. However, some of them still do stand out more when compared to others. For example, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are the two superstars whose names are almost synonymous with "American Idol."
But who does Ryan Seacrest thinks is the best of the best? He went on the Today Show to answer just that. Since co-hosting the first season of the show with Brian Dunkelman until now that he hosts alone, he believes that Carrie Underwood is the biggest star the show has ever produced.
Reports in the Daily Mail even state that he did not even hesitate when he named Underwood as the biggest star over previous winners like Clarkson. "Kelly too, but, you know, I was just on New Year's with Carrie, and she's just a superstar. She really is. So I take Carrie," he said. Seacrest was reunited with Underwood when he presented Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve and she was one of the performers.
Carrie Underwood has gone on to sell over 65 million copies of her albums worldwide since becoming the fourth winner of "American Idol" back in 2005. Kelly Clarkson was the first-ever winner of the show and has gone on to sell more than 25 million albums globally. Seacrest has gained success in his own right with various presenting gigs in television and radio.
