Fans started to hope for a crossover when a trailer revealed the fact that Akuma, a popular character from "Street Fighter" will also join "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," However, according to a new report, it seems that will not going to happen.
Acccording to a report published in iDigitalTimes before the developer will release the game to Western player, the game will get a major update. The anticipated release date for Tekken 7 is still unknown. However, Bandai Namco announced the release of an updated version of the game, very popular already in Japan, called "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution". Fans all over the world were surprised with the trailer when it featured Akuma. This sets a wave of speculations of a potential "Street Fighter" and "Tekken" crossover.
Bandai Namco explained that rather than to be canceled, the concept of "Tekken X Street Fighter" has been actually transformed into "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution." However, despite this declaration, fans are still hoping for a full-fledged crossover game.
Unfortunately, the answer is that "Tekken" fans cannot expect to see more "Street Fighter" combatants, according to the declaration of Michael Murray, "Tekken 7" senior game designer, for PlayStation Lifestyle. He said that Akuma is the only one character crossover planned.
The game producer, Katsuhiro Harada, and himself have always been against guest characters, according to Murray. The only crossover will be Akuma because it fits the bill. Akuma's addition has gained a positive feedback from fans, however the developers do not plan any other additional crossovers.
According to Parent Herald, Akuma, a man-turned-demon with his own code of honer, is the most powerful characters in the game "Street Fighter". The Supreme Master of Fist is a saint when up against the Mishima clan, but a monster when compared to Ken and Ryu.
For now, we still do not have a confirmed official release date for both "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" and "Tekken 7".
