Bisexuals Are Gaining Population As Per Recent Survey By CDC

The times have changed and we are now living in a more open-minded generation. On that note, the latest national survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently reported that the bisexual community is currently on the rise.

According to CNN, a lot of men and women are brave enough to come out in the open these days about their bi-sexuality. It gets easier now for them to call themselves bisexual due to the awareness that the public has now compared to years ago.

A study has been made to prove this back in 2011 to 2013 and over 9,000 people between the ages of 18 and 44 were used for this experiment. These people have been given questions about their preference when it comes to choosing a partner whether it is the opposite or the same sex. Their sexual experiences were also recorded.

That study was found similar to the last research they have recorded back in 2006 to 2010 where the account for homosexuals in women is 1.3% and 1.9% for men.

However, this study didn't just involve homosexuals; in fact, another group came into rising based on this research and they are the bisexuals. 17.4% of the women now are open about it and it was a step up from the past survey's 14.2%.

Bisexuality is not exactly new and it means being attracted to more than one gender. Even though this is the case, it is still not an orientation that is easily accepted by many people, this is what Debby Herbenick has to say about the matter. She is the author or "Sex Made Easy" and an associate professor at Indiana University. She also added, "Women and men who self-identify as bisexual experience stigma not just from heterosexuals but also homosexuals."

Based on all these facts, it is safe to safe that the human race has become more aware and understanding these days than that of the medieval years. It is actually a good thing.
