Sleep Quality Helps Reduce Cardiovascular Risks

Sufficient sleep is reported to be the most effective way to reduce cardiovascular risks, a scientific study recently showed.

According to the proprietors of the study, seven or more hours of quality sleep at night can help improve blood circulation and heart condition and should be done as regularly as possible.

In another study, scientists showed that those who drink and smoke regularly and those who don't have regular exercises still lowered their chances for heart problems if they can sleep for at least seven hours daily.

But it is sleeping for at least seven hours and not abusing one's body by eating right and exercising is what can really lower the risks for cardiovascular conditions like heart burns, heart attack and stroke.

In the Netherlands, 14,000 men and women were tested throughout the span of a decade for possible heart diseases and strokes. 600 were reported to have suffered from cardiovascular conditions and around 129 died by the end of the study.

The team of scientists who did the study showed a major relationship between sleep and good health proving that those who sleep within the advisable number of hours per night lowered their risk by 65% and death due to cardiovascular diseases also lowered by 83%.

Researchers from the National Institute for Public Health and Environment said "Public health impacts of substantial sleep at night along with traditional ways of improving one's lifestyle can really be helpful".
