Madonna was accused by some commentators of being a bad mother in the wake of her custody battle. For one, New York Post awarded the 57-year-old pop icon as the World's Worst Celebrity Parent.
As Madonna's custody battle with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie continues, many observers accused the songstress of being a bad mother after her son, Rocco, refused to go back to her for Christmas and rather spent the holiday season with his dad in the U.K.
After the teen's refusal, Page Six then ran a report that Madonna's children, including her daughter Lourdes are fed up with their mom. An insider disclosed to the site that the 15-year-old Rocco and 19-year-old Lourdes are craving for "stability" and felt that their mom is so "controlling."
The source further claimed that Rocco turned into being a rebel during Madonna's Rebel Heart tour. The teen allegedly got "upset about not spending enough time" with his mother and the relationship reputedly turned worst after Rocco felt that her mom was "trying to micromanage his life."
In addition, Madonna allegedly forced her kids to stick with her macrobiotic diet where dairy, sweets, chocolates or any foods that contain preservatives and salt are not allowed. Watching TV is likewise not allowed. And if the kids irresponsibly leave their clothes on the floor, it will be confiscated.
But Madonna, on the other hand, remained mum about it and took the matter on social media instead -- seemingly addressing the controversy that's surrounding her custody battle and the estrangement between her and Rocco.
"It's possible to be an entertainer and a good mother!!!" -- the mother of four wrote after posting an image on her Instagram, showing all of her children travelling together. "Too bad we don't live in a society where many encourage strong independent single working Moms! The next great Frontier!"
