This week's episode of "Downtown Abbey" for its sixth season is a little bit tamed than the season premiere. Last time was kind of a marathon of hormones for some of the characters and those who are more classy and uncomfortable about those whole "making love" scenes could breathe this second episode.
Refinery29 has the summary of the whole thing that happened this week and we have to agree that it is more mellow, at least on the whole sex thing. But, when it comes to drama, that one is definitely on the script.
The drama starts with Lady Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery) getting all hyped up in taking care of the pigs in time for the fat stock show. She wants the show to be perfect just so she could show everyone she is a better agent than Tom Branson (Allan Leech).
Meanwhile, Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier) is stressing out about his job and his chance to be a full on butler because of an interview that he messed up. Andy Parker (Michael Fox) the footman is not helping his case either and is even giving him a hard time.
On the other hand, going back to the hot and heavy scene that Carson (Jim Carter) and Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan) the last time, it looks like they have settled down and now they are more into worrying about what details on their wedding. Mrs. Hughes is causing a lot of drama by being such a difficult bride to please since she doesn't want her wedding anywhere near Abbey.
As for this episode's rating, according to Vogue, it was a boring one. However, since a lot of people want to know what happens next after the premiere, they have no choice but to watch this part where most of the scenes are about the pig show. Hopefully, the next episode would be a lot more entertaining.
