When One Direction took an extended break in August to try and make time for solo commitments and careers, not even 1D architect Simon Cowell could tell when they would come together again. Now global panic is spreading with a source's statement on US Weekly that the four remaining One Direction members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson will never more reunite. An unnamed source was quick to put out the fire via E.T.
"There's no truth to this," the source insisted. "[Their break] remains a hiatus with the intention of reuniting at some point."
Billboard revealed having received similar assurance. "Nothing has changed regarding hiatus plans for the group, and all will be revealed in due time from the band members' own mouths," the source from the band's inner circle said.
Styles made this statement in November following waves of split rumors regarding the boys. "I think it's important for us to take the break and have it as a break," the 'Don't Let Me Go' singer explained. "Obviously it would be naive of us to think that people aren't going to read into that in a ton of different ways, but we're just gonna take a little break next year."
Tomlinson, on the other hand, posted a thanks after the band's special performance at U.K.'s 'The X Factor' also in November. Interestingly, the 23-year-old hunky singer then hinted that the reunion will happen not too far into the future.
"Well that was an emotional night !! Never can we thank you enough for how special you have made the last five years for us!" Tomlinson expressed. "I hope you realize what we have all done together really is incredible. You guys have made us what we are today! We'll be back soon enough!"
In the meantime, fans all over are finding comfort in a tweet that Horan posted a few days ago. The singer's words made no allusion to any big or shocking change regarding their favorite four.
"Hey guys just to let ya know, I'm still here don't worry," tweeted Horan. "Just keeping my head down and enjoying the break, hope you understand . Love you."
In happier news, another single from "Made in the A.M." will definitely be unveiled, albeit the float status of its timetable.
