'The Longest Shortest Time' Is A Podcast That Will Help With Your Parenting Woes

Since last year, it seems as if podcasts have taken a life of their own, as their popularity skyrocketed. You can learn a lot of things from podcasts including science and pop culture, but there is yet to be a mainstream parenting podcast with "The Longest Shortest TIme."

The new podcast is from the producers of "Comedy Bang! Bang!" and "How Did This Get Made?" In fact, this parenting podcast was named in the "Best of 2015" lists of publications such as Slate. This proves that it is not only interesting and entertaining, but you can also learn a whole lot from it.

The show prides itself on being a "parenting show for everyone," as stated by PR News Wire. It is described as such because it offers a very broad view of parenting. The subject matter on "The Longest Shortest Time" is broad as well. It encompasses topics such as children's relationships with their parents and vice versa, and even whether or not to have kids at all in the first place.

Since launching in 2010, the show has steadily been gaining a huge following. The show's host Hillary Frank is experienced in the field of podcasting as she has been an audio producer for a long time. She is also a regular contributor to "This American Life." She puts an interesting spin on topics a good chunk of viewers might view as mundane.

Frank and her show have gained such a huge following that she now moderates two Facebook groups about parenting. Both of these groups were created by fans of the show who wished to convene and share their experiences with one another.

"I want my show and online communities to be the go-to forum for deeper, more thoughtful discussions on parenting. I'm not here to give prescriptive advice or tell listeners how to parent. My show is the place where we can crack each other up, share our stories and commiserate," Frank says.
