Several fans have been waiting for the "Green Lantern" film to come out. "Green Lantern Corps." will be the title of the forthcoming film reboot; however, up until now, no significant details were made available yet.
There were reports, last year, claiming that Chris Pine will be portraying the titular role in its DC Cinematic Universe. Aside from the circulating reports that he will lead his own superhero film in the "Green Lantern Corps," Chris is also said to have been slated to appear as the male lead in the "Wonder Woman" movie.
However, new reports stated that it is very unlikely for the "Star Trek" actor to be involved in the "Green Lantern" reboot especially that it remained baseless as there were no official confirmation released from the production film yet. The speculations that Chris will not appear in the said movie was backed up when the actor himself confirmed that he was never contacted or even had a discussion about starring "Green Lantern Corps."
"No. I was not offered Green Lantern ever, I've never had a conversation about Green Lantern," Chris told the Collider during the press conference for the film "The Finest Hours." He divulged he was never offered the role of "Green Lantern" but only time knows if the production will consider this adorable actor.
With Chris' revelation, Cinema Blend speculated that he might have chosen the role of Steve Trevor in the "Wonder Woman" movie over portraying "Green Lantern." The entertainment news outlet claimed that the actor's decision is a very wise move since leading another franchise might dull both "Star Trek" and Green Lantern" series. Despite this, several fans are still hopeful that the actor will get the chance to suit up and lead the latter in the future.
For the time being, fans should have to wait for the appearance of Chris in the "Wonder Woman" movie especially that he is playing the second fiddle to Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). While "Green Lantern" is set to be released on June 29, 2020, "Wonder Woman" is set to hit theaters in June 23, 2017 and "The Finest Hours" will be available for viewing starting Jan. 29.
