Reports announcing that Rockstar North boss Leslie Benzies left the company have started a wave of rumors claiming that the "GTA 6" game version will be delayed to be released only in 2020. Previous rumors have pointed to an earlier release date, in the year 2018.
Gamers are disappointed to hear that they might have to wait longer before able to play the next popular Rockstar GTA open-world game. The game developer Rockstar North is famous for their large contribution in designing the game versions Grand Theft Auto 3 to 5. But now, according to a report published by Kotaku, the boss of Rockstar North has left the company. Rockstar told Kotaku that now is confirmed Leslie Benzies will not return to work for the company after the sabbatical vacation started on September 1, 2014.
Benzies has contributed to the success of the Rockstar North for the last 15 years, period of time when the company has developed some amazing games. When it comes about the "GTA 6," Benzies had some bold ideas for the game version, according to The Bit Bag. His departure could really slow down the process of the next game development.
Benzies declared previously that the team got "about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do". He added that for now the development team doesn't know exactly what "GTA 6" will be, however they have some great ideas.
Some earlier rumors claimed that "GTA 6" release date will be somewhere in 2018. In the perspective of the new developments in the company's top management, this release date seems now a bit unlikely.
Other recent rumors have pointed out that the game developer Rockstar is still working on DLC for "GTA 5 Online." In this context, if the rumors are true, it is certain that the development team would need more time in order to develop their next game in the franchise.
The company is also waiting for the next generation of consoles in order to make more profits, as reported by Neurogadget. Recent rumors are pointed out for the year 2020 as the most probable date of "GTA 6" release.
