Rudy Gay and Ryan Anderson are highly recognisable names since they are one of their respective teams star players. So it may come as no surprise that both of them are on the opposite ends of a potential major trade deal between the Sacramento Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Kings are reportedly trying to shift Gay to another team but have so far unsuccessful in their efforts. The growth of his promising NBA career has often been stuttered, if not completely stopped, by his constant movement from team to team, says The Source.
Rudy Gay spent 6 years with Grizzlies before being traded to the Toronto Raptors. After just two seasons there, he was sent to the Kings. Now, it seems like he will be moving to New Orleans to join the Pelicans if a deal for Ryan Anderson goes through.
The Pelicans have listed 8-year NBA vet Anderson for trade, but according to Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops, they have rejected the offer to let him go in exchange for Rudy Gay. However, multiple sources report that this has the makings of a decent trade for both of the parties involved.
"This probably isn't the last we've heard of either Anderson or Gay in trade rumors before the deadline," says Josh Hill of Fan Sided. The NBA trade deadline is still a month away so there is still much time for both teams to change their mind.
However, with an advertisement that he is comparable, if not as good as Kevin Love, there will certainly be a lot of interest surrounding Anderson who is having one of his best seasons in his career so far. Anderson, who seems to be in his prime, is averaging 17 points and 6 rebounds per game. He is also shooting around 37 percent from behind the three-point line.
