The R-rated film "Fifty Shades of Grey" was shown about half a decade ago and it was not until recently that Dakota Johnson's (Anastasia Steele) mother, Melanie Griffith, finally decided to see it. However, she didn't even watch the whole movie and claimed to only have seen some parts of it.
According to E! Online, those steamy and sexy parts of the film were not seen by the actress' mother. The movie is based on the erotic novel of the same title written by E.L. James. The book alone got a lot of people hooked on it that they couldn't wait to see the movie version. The film also made Johnson's debut on a major Hollywood studio project such a huge success.
But, of course, everybody has been wondering what her parents, especially her mother, could have thought about their daughter playing the lead role on a BDSM-themed film.
It took a while for the press to have gotten a reaction from her regarding the matter. She even told the publication IndieWire back in 2014 that she probably would not want to see "Fifty Shades of Grey," knowing her child would be doing some sex scenes in a film where a lot of people would be watching. However, during the Stella McCartney Autumn 2016 presentation earlier this week, Griffith finally voiced out her opinion. "I just can't quite bring myself to watch the love scenes," she said.
It is one honest answer coming from a mother even though she would understand knowing she's also a Hollywood actress. However, just because she is uncomfortable with her daughter's recent work, it doesn't mean she is not supportive of her career. In fact, she said would be watching Johnson's new film called "How To Be Single," which is under the genre of comedy.
