'Colony' Release Date, Plot, Cast & News Update: New Sci-Drama Series On USA Network Is Promising! [Spoilers]

USA Network just released a new sci-fi drama series called "Colony," which stars Josh Holloway (Will) and Sarah Wayne Callies (Katie). Holloway is known for his character James Ford on "Lost," while Callies is known for her works on Prison Break playing the role of Sara Tancredi and on "The Walking Dead" as Lori Grimes. "Colony" just released its pilot last night and the reviews are now in.

This show is not just an ordinary drama series because it involves aliens and military forces trying to hinder the human race from normally living. Greed of power is one of the obvious conflicts in the story and, with that, ordinary families are affected by it.

Entertainment Weekly recently had an interview with creator of the show and, based on what we have gathered as seen on the pilot episode, the story would revolve around the lives of the couple Will and Katie.

The setting is very futuristic and the couple is torn between the Collaborators and the Resistance. These are forces that are running the world and it was hard for them decide, which one would help them survive in a place where alien invasion is also a problem.

We've seen a lot of good feedback from critics like TV.com actually believes it won't be cancelled early because the audience has something to look forward to watching every week. Is it completely original? We would have to answer no because this is not the first time that an alien invasion mixed with drama kind of theme has been produced on TV.

However, the creators did a great job in keeping the viewers intrigued as they didn't give a lot of information about the whole plot on the pilot episode. The characters are even at lost on what's really happening in their lives, but it is understandable since its creator is also the same brilliant mind who produced "Lost."

Catch "Colony" every Thursday nights on USA Network at 10pm.
