Madonna And Guy Ritchie Custody Battle Continues: Where Will Their Son Rocco End Up Living?

Formerly married couple Madonna and Guy Ritchie's custody battle in the courtroom for their son Rocco continues. According to the report, the parenting styles of the celebrities are factors in the ongoing custody battle.

"He wants Rocco to have the confidence he lacked growing up and thinks Madonna's stern parental style is counterproductive," a source close to director Ritchie told People. "The welfare of Rocco is Guy's priority."

The report from People also says that the custody battle over the 15-year-old Rocco started when the teen refused to return to Madonna after living with his dad in the U.K. The "Like A Virgin" and "Papa Don't Preach" singer went to a courtroom in New York last December where a judge ordered Rocco to come home to America so that the parents can sort out the details of his living condition.

The source close to the "Sherlock Holmes" and "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." director also revealed that the teen does not want to return to his private school in New York because he thinks that the school is elitist. Instead, Rocco prefers spending time with his friends in the U.K.

The 57-year-old Madonna and the 47-year-old Ritchie married on 2000 but had a divorce back in 2008. Family Studies' recent report says that parental divorce has long-term effects on the parents' children.

"In other words, it appears that early parental divorce puts people at a slightly greater risk of poor health at age 50 primarily because it leads to a decline in families' socioeconomic status, an elevated risk of behavioral problems in late childhood, and an increased propensity to smoke in adulthood," says Family Studies.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are supposed to go to court on Feb. 3 for their second hearing. Whatever the result of the custody battle will be, the celebrities' children will definitely have a hard time dealing with the fact that their parents are no longer together and that they are still at odds up to this day.
