Amid all the anticipation regarding the Royal baby, The Mail on Sunday conducted a poll and found that nearly 53 percent people wanted the Duchess of Cambridge's parents, the Middletons, to have more influence on the little one than Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla.
Nearly 1000 people were surveyed and the results showed that the respondents favored Carole and Michael Middleton than Charles and Camilla to look after the baby and help Kate and Prince William in the initial days.
Carole has been known to be of immense support to Kate. The duchess also spent her 'due date' at her family house in Bucklebury, Berkshire. According to multiple reports, police cars were seen parked outside the house to escort the pregnant Kate in case of emergency. "She (Kate) knows her mum will take good care of her and William can also rest assured that she's in safe hands," a royal insider told The Express.
It was also reported that post-delivery Kate would spend six weeks at her parents' house. "Carole's a brilliant mum - she is 10 years older than me and practiced on me - and I think it's the right thing to do. It will take the pressure off Kate," Gary Goldsmith, Kate's uncle, told the Telegraph in May.
The poll found that six out of ten people wanted Kate to devote her complete attention to the baby and stop her Royal duties for some time. She is expected to resume her work by the autumn; that means Kate will get around three and half months of maternity leave. Her final task before going on maternity leave was on June 13 when she named a cruise liner Royal Princess at Southampton Docks.
The respondents were also of the opinion that unlike Princess Diana, the duchess should not hire any nanny to help raise the royal baby.
On whether William should quit working as an RAF search-and-rescue pilot, around three-quarters of those surveyed said that he should continue his job. William is expected to take not more than two weeks leave after the baby is born. He is expected to join RAF in Anglesey, North Wales soon, reports the Daily Mail.
