One of the stars of the hit CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" (TBBT), Mayim Bialik (Amy), is not afraid to speak her mind about the issue on modesty-shaming. It is the opposite of slut-shaming, which she was scrutinized for after blogging about her opinion on one of singer Ariana Grande's billboard.
On "TBBT," Bialik's character as Amy is a conservative woman who dresses pieces that say a lot about her personality. Apparently, her character on the show is partly related to the actress in real life. The Inquisitr pointed out that she is the kind of actress who doesn't really go with the flow of what the current society thinks. Most people these days are easily offended by almost anything and Bialik is not exactly someone who shares the same thinking than most have.
That said, her blog post back in 2014 became a controversy when she talked about Grande's dress saying the singer could be selling lingerie on her billboard ad.
One of the biggest fashion magazines, Cosmopolitan, noticed her comment on that and immediately said she is slut-shaming. She was also attacked by a lot of fans of the singer on social media, which is why she had to tell people to chill out.
Bialik is back writing about her opinion about the matter that she published it on her website explaining her side of the story. She went deep on the topic of modest-shaming and she also said she was just pretty much misinterpreted by a lot of people when she commented on Grande's outfit.
The actress made a good point about the issue. "If not putting boundaries around that makes you happy, by all means, knock yourself out. But let's not modesty-shame either," she penned. "There are a lot of ways to be a woman, and I am grateful to live in a country where all of them are allowed!"
Most of the comments of the people on her post were agreeing about what she just said. Up to this writing, no official word from Grande's side was released.
Catch more of her modest and conservative character on the latest episode of "The Big Bang Theory" this Thursday night at 8 via CBS.
