Humans are not the only ones that experience benefits from living in a high-tech society. Even pets these days are no longer a stranger to the latest gadgets.
The Star recently reported about this massive technology trade show, CES, and this year, the event has over 150,000 participants and a lot of them have showcased products involving pet care and the latest gadgets related to it.
Taking care of pets is a huge deal in Western countries, especially in the United States and Canada. According to a prediction published by Packaged Facts and sited by The Star, which is based on the recent statistics and development of new high-tech products in pet care, about $8.3 billion would be spent by pet owners by the time 2018 hits. In 2014 alone, $6.6 billion have already spent by pet owners for their furry little friends. It is indeed not surprising if the predicted amount for pet gadget consumption 2 years from would happen that it could even exceed the said $8.3 billion.
These expenses mostly go to pet foods, veterinary check ups and even costumes on special events like Halloween and other known festivities. Some would even buy clothes for their pets on a regular basis.
Pet care is growing fast that it is becoming a multi billion-dollar industry. Many are inspired to do a start-up business focusing on this area like CleverPet, which is based in San Diego, California. The company invented a special gaming console for pet dogs. It is not the kind of gaming console that many would think since it is for a dog. Basically, what it does is give the dog a treat each time it finishes a memory game linked to it.Technology has indeed come too far with these types of inventions.
