Actress Hayden Panetierre is no longer keeping her lips sealed about postpartum depression. She has been in the entertainment industry for almost 20 years and People Magazine quoted her saying being on the red carpet after pregnancy made her feel "so new" again.
In an interview with the said publication during the red carpet event for the Critics' Choice Awards, the actress revealed that she does feel different this time, knowing she has gone through a lot in just a year. Panetierre said, "I've really gone, 'You know what, I've been in this industry for so long, forget it!' I've been hiding myself. Just putting out the smiling face, showing people this, and allowing that veil to come down - it's like a weight off my shoulders."
This time, she is proud to say she is now a mother and she no longer cares about what other people would have to say about it. She realized the many people who are supporting her for honesty and it seems all new to her that this kind of virtue is actually life's gift.
She first entered treatment for postpartum depression in October of last year, and is still finishing some of its sessions. Now that she went public with her current condition, she feels more free and confident to face the cameras with nothing to hide.
E! Online published some of the things that the actress also said about her situation during the red carpet event. She said that being more honest has made her life better. She was not forced to check herself in to a treatment facility; rather she did it on her own. She started feeling the depression after giving birth to her child Kaya back in December 2014. She is her daughter with soon-to-be-husband Wladimir Klitschko.
