'Star Wars 8' Release Date, Cast & Update: Stan Lee Says Spider-Man To Luke Skywalker 'May The Force Be With You'

"The Avengers" creator Stan Lee recently spoke of "The Avengers" and "Star Wars" crossing paths. Lee mainly believes that, with rights to a considerable number of Marvel characters and Lucasfilm's "Stars Wars" now under the House of Mouse, things could really move in that direction.

During a conversation with Big Issue, the Marvel Comics creator was asked if he thought he would ever see all his Marvel characters in one film, referencing separate rights to his characters among studios Disney, Sony and Fox. "Yeah, probably. It'll be the most expensive film ever produced," Lee declared. "But anything that the public want to see you can be sure it will eventually be produced."

The genius, whom in a Big Issue report was referred to by "Kick-ass" creator Mark Millar to be even more important than Disney for making super heroes more human among other things, uses The Avengers' coming together as an example. "I created the Avengers by taking many of our characters and making a team out of them. We can have as many characters join the Avengers as we want to for future movies," Stan Lee added. "That might be fun, all of a sudden Luke Skywalker is an Avenger!"

Talking about the likelihood of seeing The Incredible Hulk and Thor hanging out with Chewbacca, Iron Man and Luke Skywalker on a friendly showdown, Black Widow and Rey together on a destructive jaunt, Stan Lee took a practical perspective. "Obviously the people who produce these [movies] are looking to be as successful as possible," he explained. "If they feel that incorporating "Star Wars" with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they'll find a way to do it. Can you imagine Spider-Man saying, "May the force be with you"? It may come to that!"

Why not? After all, Spider-Man was brought into the Marvel Universe after Sony Pictures, who owned the rights to the character, and Marvel came up with a mutually acceptable agreement to share rights. As a result, the web-slinging hero is now going to make his first appearance in Marvel's universe through "Captain America: Civil War". The same thing may happen to "X-Men," which is owned by 20th Century Fox, according to Lee.

Cinema Blend surmises that a crossover between "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Star Wars" may be the smoother route in terms of viewer experience. However the crossover begins - yes, begins - Stan Lee's new TV crime drama Lucky Man, which stars "The Hobbit's" James Nesbitt will invade the aiwaves soon. The first episode of "Lucky Man" is airing on January 22.
