Gail Simmons Pregnant: 'Top Chef' Judge Expecting First Child

Gail Simmons, "Top Chef" and "Top Chef: Just Desserts" judge, and her husband Jeremy Abrams are expecting their first child this winter, according to PEOPLE.

The couple got married in Long Island City, New York in 2008, and their wedding was featured in Martha Stewart's Weddings. The contestants on "Top Chef: New York" had to cater Simmons' bridal shower.

Simmons, also special projects director at Food & Wine magazine, and Abrams, the head of music programming company Audiostiles, celebrated the ceremony with celebrity chef and fellow judge Tom Colicchio, who has since welcomed his own bundle of joy, son Mateo Lev, now 2. Coliccho is also dad to Luka, 3, and Dante, 19.

Simmons' released memoir "Talking With My Mouth Full" in 2012. In it she wrote that Abrams proposed to her when she woke up one morning in bed after 10 days on the road promoting "Top Chef." When she accepted the ring, she answered her door to find a "full breakfast delivery" from their favorite NYC spot, August.

"We made it last the whole day, laid out like a picnic on our living room floor," she wrote.

In an interview with AdWeek a year ago, Simmons addressed rumors about on-set conflicts with her and Padma Lakshmi.

"No, I have amazing respect for Padma, and even more so now that I host a show," Simmons said. "She has been incredibly supportive, and I realize now just how much work she does. The role of the host is a lot more complex than people think she is. I'm the Mary Ann to her Ginger, we like to say."
