A blogger's message for mothers has gone viral. An Australian blogger's Facebook post about issues such as post-baby body, household responsibilities and postpartum depression has captured the attention of many women struggling with the difficulties of being a mother.
"To the woman at the park, looking at her phone, ignoring her children, I salute you," wrote Australian mother and blogger Constance Hall on her Jan. 16 Facebook post that has been liked for almost 267,000 times and shared for more than 128,000 times. She followed the statement by implying that it is alright for mothers to relax and unwind. "Being a good mum or wife or human does NOT mean spending eternity cleaning your house."
Hall also wrote about mothers who do not care about what others would say about their post-baby bodies. "A brand new 24-hour job that doesn't pay and won't end for around 20 years is NOT a good time to give up cake," the mother wrote. "Eat the cake... Your post-baby body is not all the sudden free for public commentary."
Finally, Hall also wrote in her Facebook account about mothers coping with postpartum depression. "To the woman at the doctors surgery, waiting patiently to request some antidepressants, I salute you," says the blogger. "You are still coping. Do not confuse depression for not coping, you've taken action, you look like a coping queen to me."
"Too often strength and weakness are confused, strength is asking for help," Hall wrote about mothers not embarrassed about asking for help and support regarding their postpartum depression. "You are so strong."
Other ways to deal with postpartum depression include proper time management, learning to relax, spending personal quality time, getting adequate amount of sleep daily, eating healthy and nutritious diet, regular exercise, socializing with friends and getting support from your partner, Fox News Health shared.
