For a long time, we only heard news out of Ubisoft regarding the release date delays of the online game "Tom Clancy's: The Division." However, at just few months before the official release, reports announce that the game will look a bit different that its debut.
Engadget reported that "The Division" becomes more cinematic, in an effort of the developer Ubisoft to fill in some of the game's backstory. The gaming company partners with YouTubers to video illustrate the story about the Black Friday currency-based pandemic that brings society to a halt. YouTubers RocketJump, Devinsupertramp and online production house Corridor Digital come with several different stories set in the "The Division" universe.
Each video follows a different character and tells a slightly different story, with a different tone. The fans of the game can watch them via the Amazon Prime Video app as a 30-minute short film.
Game Spot also shared how much space gamers will need on their hard drive to install the upcoming beta, According to someone with early access to the game, "The Division's" beta client has 26.25 GB. The Xbox One alpha client, by comparison, was just 23.2 GB.
Reddit user legate213 declared that the developers invited him to a "private beta" that started on January 20. The gamers revealed the file size in a screenshot of the download. The image was captured by VG247 before being removed.
The developer Ubisoft did not announce yet officialy the file sizes for the PS4 and Xbox One beta clients. However, since the closed beta will start on January 28, that information should come soon. The beta will end on January 31 on all platforms.
For those who want to have guaranteed access to "The Division's" beta, the only way is to preorder the game. People in the pre-release play period can try the PvP Dark Zone, while beta players can explore missions on Manhattan's Chelsea Pier.
