Former child star Anna Chlumsky delivered a baby girl, Penelope Joan So, Thursday in New York City, according to PEOPLE.
This is the first child for the actress, who got her start in 1991's "My Girl," and her husband Shaun So, both 32. The pair wed in 2008.
"She's a really good mix between my husband and me," Chlumsky said. "When she's with him, you see him, and when she's with me, you see me. She's a perfect mix.
"I'm really, really happy. I'm just smiley. I have this new bundle of love that's now in my life. She has made my life even better," she said.
The star said she's enjoying motherhood so far.
"I'm really surprised how real it is," she said to PEOPLE. "What's really strange is how fast it happened. You prepare for so long, and all of a sudden the baby's here ...It's seriously the best thing. Holding her is fantastic. It's one of the more enjoyable things. It doesn't get boring at all. I could hold her all day."
Chlumsky first announced her pregnancy to PEOPLE in March. The actress said she was working on the nursery and reading up on baby books to get prepared for welcoming a newborn.
The "Veep" actress also earned her first Emmy nomination for her work on the show this week.
"I'm still in shock. When I got the call I wasn't sleeping because I was breastfeeding my daughter," she said. "It was neat because it was me and my husband and my daughter all in the room getting the news at the same time. When [my manager] told me, it was that nervous, happy, appreciative laughter. I just laughed a lot! It feels really great to have your work noticed."
