One of the most successful video games franchise "Grand Theft Auto" has always been a favorite of gamers worldwide and, ever since it was first released back in 1997, it has now five installments. The last "Grand Theft Auto" videogame, "GTA 5," was released over two years ago and fans are now waiting for a 6th "Grand Theft Auto" to come out.
However, it seems that "Grand Theft Auto 6" might not be release very soon due to the fact that one of the most influential people behind the "GTA" series has dropped out of Rockstar. Leslie Benzies, one of the most regarded influencer of "GTA" video games, took a sabbatical leave just before "GTA 5" was released. Also, it has been recently confirmed that Benzies will not be returning, which could possibly affect the release of "Grand Theft Auto 6".
The delay in the downloadable content (DLC) for "GTA 5" could also be due to Benzies being no longer part of the Rockstar team. The DLC for "GTA 5" was promised by Rockstar back in 2013 yet there are still no new DLC's available even at this time. Rockstar is yet to clarify the updates in the near future.
Other than that, the possibility of "Grand Theft Auto 6" being in the works might be true and it is rumored that the game might be release at the same time Sony's PlayStation 5 and Microsoft's Xbox Two. If that is true, then the possible release date of "Grand Theft Auto 6" will be on 2018 and it will be the first video game to ever be carried by the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox two.
However, these are still rumors and, for now, all Rockstar can do is update "GTA 5" and make their promised DLC's available to make the gamers happy. Until then, fans will just have to wait for any word about "Grand Theft Auto 6."
