McDonald's just introduced its newest potato treat, which is set to be released in Japan. Those who are looking for something salty but sweet at the same time will find comfort in the new McChoco Potato.
It is a sweet, though unusual twist, on the food giant's classic French-fry. The new dish will be drizzled with "chocolate with cacao flavor and white milk chocolate" sauces, as reported by Fortune. The company tweeted on Wednesday a photo of the upcoming dish to the envy of French-fry lovers who unfortunately do not reside in the East Asian country.
There are those who say that McDonald's has gone to where nobody needed to go by making an already unhealthy treat so much unhealthier. However, the flavorful balance of the sweetness of the sauces and the saltiness of the French fries is a little hard to simply pass up.
According to the McDonald's website, customers will find the new chocolate French fry dish enjoyable for various occasions as it also serves as a wonderful dessert. In fact, this exclusive menu item is surely an ingenious way to enjoy their classic potato dish.
The McChoco Potato is not the first potato dish that McDonald's experimented with. Previously, also for a limited time, McDonald's Japan offered the Shaka Shaka French fries. This dish was topped with bacon and cheese sauce.
The McChoco Potato is not a permanent menu item. It will only be available for a limited time and only in select McDonald's branches in Japan.
Those living in Japan will be able to delight their taste buds starting on the 26th of this month. Unfortunately, the rest of the world will only have to drizzle their own home made or store bought chocolate sauces onto the well-loved McDonald's French fries.
