'Kingdom Heart 3' Release Date & Update: Upcoming Game Is The Last 'Kingdom Heart' Installment?

The highly-anticipated release of the third installment of the "Kingdom Hearts" video game is dropping soon and fans are super excited about the news. It was reported on a previous article that there will be new characters in the "Kingdom Hearts 3" universe.

Tetsuya Nomura, game developer of "Kingdom Hearts 3," has been teasing fans numerous times and recently, during a sit down, Nomura revealed that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is entering the crucial stage of game development. Nomura also discussed the new battle system and moves "Kingdom Hearts 3" offer.

"I feel that going through the different spin-off titles and ideas for battle systems, how the gameplay there works, we kind of learned from that and implemented a new battle system as well as introducing new and unique moves," Nomura said. He added that the other game developers have added "Keyblade Transformation" in the gameplay and that fans should expect a hardware in "Kingdom Hearts 3."

Nomura also divulged on the rumors that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will end very soon and that this is the last installment for the well-loved video game since fans have repeatedly cited that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is the end of the "Dark Seeker Saga." However, Nomura was quick to dispel the rumors including the rumor that he and Disney are in a disagreement.

"Anything unique to 'Kingdom Hearts' hasn't been a source of disagreement from Disney," Nomura confirmed. "Sometimes when we're writing the story they ask us to give it a lighter tone or happier ending, but they haven't stopped us from doing anything. I don't feel they inhibited anything," he concluded.

As for the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3," fans have been saying that it might be released on the last quarter of this year. However, it is highly unlikely since Nomura has said that they are in a very crucial development with "Kingdom Hearts 3". Most likely, the game will be released on 2017.
