Women agree that shopping is a stress-reliever. But do you ladies know that it also helps burn down as much as 15,000 calories every year?
A UK-based study says that while shopping, women walk nearly 180 miles a year, equal to seven marathons. This means that they end up burning 15,000 calories every year.
The study conducted by Wall's Solero Exotic also found that women confessed that they trust their partners' and mothers' opinion more than their friends'.
The study also found that online shopping has also become popular among women. And it's the simplicity and ease of shopping that delights women, but if they are told that visiting stores and buying items would help in reducing their weight, nearly 58 percent of them would happily go out.
However, all the effort of shopping and losing calories goes in vain when women indulge their taste buds in some lip-smacking food items, such as crisps, chocolate and biscuits. Around one in 10 women end up eating almost 1000 calories and 31 percent gain over 250 calories.
Around 27 percent of women said that they do not eat much before trying out clothes out of fear that they won't fit them. Also two-thirds of those surveyed said that they are self-conscious in the changing rooms, reported Daily Mail.
So ladies, next time you go to update your wardrobe, do not forget to cut on junk food and pamper yourself with a good dose of shopping. If you don't get the required item, keep hunting. After all you burn 15,000 calories!
