Kate Middleton News: Joanne Froggatt Of 'Downton Abbey' Tells Duchess of Cambridge A Dirty Joke

The British royal family is pictured as this prim and proper and formal people. And yes they are, they wear clothes to impress, they talk to impress and that is why so many of the Britons and people all around the world love them. So, it really is quite a big deal if one of the Royals is the guest of honor and that is what happened to one of the actress of "Downton Abbey" during Kate Middleton's visit to the set.

Joanne Froggatt, who plays Anna Bates in "Downton Abbey" shared on "Conan" last night that, during one of the visits of Kate on the set, she slip pass something that she could not take back. Froggatt explained how nervous and excited she was, knowing that Kate was visiting the set.

It's not every day that a real Duchess and wife to the heir of the throne of England visit a set. "We were all very excited," the 35-year-old actress recounted. "Michelle Dockery and I were the only people actually filming that day. Everybody else was in to meet her. And, obviously there's a lot of security that comes with it as well."

Froggatt's character, Anna Bates, plays as the maid to Lady Mary Grantham (Michelle Dockery) and, during Kate Middleton's visit, they were the only one filming a scene so, naturally, the Duchess wanted to see how they acted.

"We're doing this scene and she's very beautiful, lovely" Froggatt said. "She has this amazing aura when she walks in the room... Before we actually said hello, we had to act right in front of her."

After a while, Kate commented on how odd it was to be actually in Lady Mary's bedroom, where then Froggatt let slip a double entendre sex pun. "I said, 'Yeah, not many people get to come in Lady Mary's bedroom,'" Froggatt quipped.

"And then, I was like, 'Oh, my god. What have I just said?'" the star added on. "I've just said something that could be taken really the wrong way...and I thought, 'Do I say? Do I draw attention to it?'"

However, Kate was very cool and didn't comment on the unintended joke while Froggatt was very embarrass about it. Either way, the Duchess of Cambridge didn't think of the comment in any other way than it was intended too; she is a real Royal after all.
