"Bourne 5" girl Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is on an impressive roll with an Oscar nomination for Oscars 2016 Best Supporting Actress with "The Danish Girl." She stars in it alongside Oscar awardee Eddie Redmayne. In "Ex Machina," she starred with "Harry Potter" actor Domhnall Gleeson and havoc-wreaking Apocalypse Oscar Isaac of "X-Men: Apocalypse."
She also shone in "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." with "Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill and "Entourage's" Armie Hammer. Now, Vikander joins Oscar nominee Matt Damon, Vincent Cassel and Julia Stiles in the fifth instalment of the Jason Bourne series.
The Wrap reports that Vikander laughingly describes the disparity between acting in Sweden and acting in Hollywood productions, including "Bourne 5." "I came from Sweden where it's like 30, 40 people, and here on 'The Danish Girl,' doing a British film, it's 100, and then you end up on these sets, and I know on Monday or Tuesday we're going to have 1,600 extras just in one scene," she said.
While not a lot of details have been revealed about "Bourne 5," Vikander mentioned filming in multiple European countries, in Washington D.C., and recently in Las Vegas.
"I'm not doing the conventional action but I'm very action-driven in this film," Vikander revealed. "But it's not in the way most people would think."
According to Movie Fone, Vikander knew Cassel even before they started working in "Bourne 5" and describes Cassel's character to be very "badass." She had not, however, had the chance to meet Damon before work began for them. "I hadn't met Matt, I was just the biggest fan. [...] He's very funny on set and then he's just extremely cool as Bourne, but we all know that," Vikander said.
She joked about taking a page from Damon's book who, during their shoot in Vegas, hid in plain sight of everyone by wearing a cap pulled low on his head. Clearly she found it quite a skill.
"Bourne 5" is the continuation of the exploits of Jason Bourne, a fictional character created by author Robert Ludlum. Theatrical release is set for July 2016.
