Apple News & Update: Tech Giant Paid $1 Billion By Google To Retain Search Bar on iPhones?

Tech giant Apple is getting paid by another tech giant, Google Inc., to keep the search bar as part of the feature of their iPhones. A whopping amount of $1 billion is the payment that Apple got from the famous search engine company.

Bloomberg reported this figure came from a report documented by Oracle Corp.'s through its copyright lawsuit charged to Google. It was back in 2014 since Google paid Apple for the said deal, which also includes the creator of Apple to get some revenue whenever Google makes money using the phone. All these were on black and white as part of the sworn statement delivered by the lawyer of Oracle earlier this year in federal court.

This is not the first time that this issue was brought up. There have been rumors about Google paying Apple this amount for years now, but no final confirmation about it was given. And until today, both companies refused to give out information about this on going rumor, BBC reported.

The court documents pertaining to the lawsuit between Oracle and Google were still considered as rumors. It also stated that Apple gets about 34% from their deal with Google.

Since Bloomberg first released the report, everyone wanted to get a hold of that alleged court transcript. Unfortunately, according to the publication, it was nowhere to be found after 3:00 p.m. of January 22. It was unexplainable how no traces of it were found -- not even on the Internet.

However, for those who are wondering what exactly is the copyright issue that Oracle was mad about Google, it was the Java software that Google used to create Android. Apparently, Oracle didn't get any payment from the giant tech company. These matters are all highly sensitive and the companies agreed that all these data are confidential.
