Chicago Bulls Ready to Trade Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson?

It is hard to forget the Chicago Bulls of the 90's as they practically dominated the NBA. Although today's Bulls team is still pretty good, they are not the same force of nature as they were before, which is why they need to make some pretty important trades.

There are those who believe that Taj Gibson and Joakim Noah do not fit into Fred Hoiberg's system very well compared to how they fit in Tom Thibodeau's. Pau Gasol has also made it clear that he is done with the Bulls once his player option comes into effect at the end of this season.

These are the reasons why the Chicago Sun Times' Joe Cowley believes that these players will be traded before the February 18 deadline. However, the Noah trade is unlikely to happen as he is injured and will be out for the rest of the 2015-2016 season. The Gasol trade can still happen, but the chance is a little less likely due to the fact that he is a free agent this summer and he is already 35 years old (but still an offensive threat).

"As for Gasol, Gibson, and perhaps even Nikola Mirotic, they can still be the top potential trade candidates," says Tom West for Fan Sided. If the Bulls can shop interest for these players then there is no doubt that they will get new and big name players for them. A lot of experts believe that the Chicago Bulls should invest in the future instead of this current season because they only have a slim chance of competing with big teams like the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Although a lot of Bulls players are injured and are set to leave, this could give other players the chance to step up. For example, Joakim Noah's absence may give the chance for Portis to take his place in the starting lineup.
