"Doctor Who" is about to be different this season starting from the fact that executive producer Steven Moffat will no longer be a part of the show after the tenth season. Geeks of Doom published an article also stating that the show will take a hiatus.
Fans of the show will be quite disappointed for they won't be able to watch new episodes of it for a while, but there will be a Christmas special and it is the only time that they would be able to enjoy the show this year. It will return not until early 2017.
Since this is the last season that Moffat will be spearheading the show, Chris Chibnall who is known as the executive producer and creator of "Broadchurch" will replace him.
Moffat has contributed a lot when it comes to the plot and improvements of the show since season 1. He is also responsible for casting significant characters that would play the Doctor like Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi. But apparently, over the years of his contribution to the show, fans of the sci-fi series voiced out how they dislike the way he runs the whole thing.
When asked about what he thinks about leaving the show, he said that it was a bit weird to talk about it right now since she is just about to work on the scripts of season 10. He also is happy that Chibnall would be replacing him because he knows he is talented enough to run the series. "At the start of season 11, Chris Chibnall will become the new showrunner of "Doctor Who" and I will be thrown in a skip," the current showrunner stated.
As for the one playing the Doctor, Peter Capaldi said it is likely that this would be his last season on the show according to The Mirror, as cited by the Cultbox. There is still no confirmation if he is willing to come back for season 11.
