The hit CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" is a huge success not just in the United States, but all over the world after winning the Best International Show during the 2016 National Television Awards held in the United Kingdom.
Fans are happy to know that they won against other famous series in the U.S. like "Orange Is The New Black" and even "Game of Thrones" under the same category, in a report cited by Design & Trend. Moving on to midseason, they took a time off for this week but are sure to come back this February with a new episode that would feature the grandmother of Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons.
For years, his grandmother's character who he refers to as "Meemaw" has never showed up in the show. For the first time, her "Meemaw" would finally have a face after 9 seasons of "TBBT."
The new episode titled, "The Meemaw Materialization" will let Sheldon introduce Amy, played by Mayim Bialik, to her grandmother. Her encounter with Sheldon's "Meemaw" is off to a rocky start since his grandmother is not fond of the idea that they had to break up before.
But as the story goes on, Amy would learn a secret from Meemaw and it is related to Sheldon's engagement ring. Amy will have mixed emotions about Sheldon's grandma's revelation about the ring and that is something that fans should look forward to.
The sitcom's showrunner Steve Molaro told TV Guide that this season would create more revelation about the engagement ring. "At some point, I'm sure it will. I promise you we have not forgotten about it," he said. Catch the new episode of "The Big Bang Theory" on Feb. 4 via CBS.
