Stress Busters: Relieve Your Stress And Become A Better Mother

Mothers are always trapped in stressful situations due to a lot of responsibilities they are attending to. Ditch all the worries and take enough time to manage the stress away.

Headaches, muscle tension, chest pain, upset stomach and many other conditions may be due to stress. You cannot deny the fact that sometimes being a mother and a wife can never be more stressful the way you think it will be.

Taking care of your children and your husband, shopping and preparing your meals, doing household chores and organizing bills and stuff are only some of the duties you need to comply and true, you can never get away with stress once in a while.

Here are some of the stress busters you may try to lessen the burdens you are carrying right now.

Have a talk with a friend.

Sometimes, you do not need some advice. In fact, all you need is an outlet -- someone who can listen to your worries. You just need somebody to give you a variety of options and someone who will basically cheer you up -- making things lighter and a lot better. You know what is good for you.

Love and feel the music.

If you are sensitive to sounds and music, Help Guide suggests that you should try listening to relaxing music or you can hum you favorite tune, or hang some wind chimes in an open window. You can experiment on other sounds too such as listening to the waves of the ocean on your iPod while your eyes are closed.

Exercise.

Aside from relieving the stress you experienced, this activity can also get your body back in shape and improve your health status. Even going out for a short walk with a friend or with your family can relieve your stress according to Housewife Plus.

Take a deep breath.

Judith Tutin, Ph.D., a psychologist said that deep breathing counters the effects of stress by lowering the heart rate and decreasing blood pressure. You may also try to meditate. It is very simple, all you have to do is sit up straight with both feet on the floor, then close your eyes and feel at peace. Having a spa and massage can also be a good stress reliever.

According to Canadian Living, mothers are more flexible in the style of discipline. They usually handle things lightly. That's what they call "women power." So, decrease your stress and do not let your family down by seeing you feeling exhausted -- more so, unhappy.
