The Oscars 2016 wiped out whatever doubt may have existed that Adele's World Tour 2016 is hot commodity. The singer turned down the invitation to present at the all-prestigious and much-awaited Oscars 2016 to prevent any hitch to her World Tour 2016 kick-off concert in Belfast.
As if the Oscars 2016 is not plagued with enough bad news such as the ongoing Oscars boycott caused by diversity issues. Fans will now also have to forgive Adele for missing the 88th Academy Awards night altogether in favor of her World Tour 2016.
The Metro reports that Adele has decided to prioritize preparations for her World Tour 2016. A source gave The Mirror a view of the singer's side on the event.
"Organisers are desperate to get her and will still do anything to make it happen but she feels the turnaround is too tight and will not let anything jeopardise her tour," the source said. "She is aware things can go wrong which causes delays and also the potential impact of a long flight on her voice. She has dug in her heels on this one."
The multiple Grammy winner is no stranger to the glam and size of an Oscars night, having herself received an Oscar Award in 2013 for her "James Bond" theme song "Skyfall."
"There were people in her team who think the Academy Awards is too big a deal to miss but Adele is in a league of her own in terms of fame and success," the source continued. "Amazingly, she doesn't really need it."
The issue has nothing to do with ego at all. As RTÉ points out, with 49 dates in Europe alone already lined up in her World Tour 2016, starting with the February 29 concert in Belfast, a lot of people are counting on Adele.
The singer knows this well and is sacrificing more than just dressing up for Oscars night. An earlier report from the Daily Mail says that Adele's World Tour 2016 is also taking Adele away from her boyfriend Simon Konecki for the whole nine-month duration, although Adele will be taking their son Angelo along to the tour.
