50 Cent is facing domestic charges Monday in court after his ex-girlfriend, model Daphne Joy, claimed that the rapper attacked her and trashed her condo in June.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, please not guilty on Monday to the domestic charges. However, if convicted, 50 Cent faces up to five years in jail and $46,000 in fines, according to the Associated Press.
The woman who filed the charges was unnamed until recently when TMZ revealed her identity as model Daphne Joy who is also reportedly the mother of his second child. The "Candy Shop" rapper has neither denied nor confirmed this. According to the report, 50 Cent has been ordered to stay a safe 100 yards from Joy.
Joy told police that on June 23 argument, 50 Cent entered her California condo and attacked her. She fled to the bedroom and closed the door which he kicked open and then proceeded to kick her as she life helpless. He then went on to cause an estimated $7,100 in damage to the home, by breaking items including chandeliers, furniture, a TV and a lamp.
Jackson made headlines earlier this year when he sent a string of offensive text messages to his teenage son, Marquise, over a custody issue.
"Tell your mother she won. She has you and ill [sic] make another. I will have nothing to do with you. Don't text me ever again," he said according to Radar Online's records of the messages.
50 Cent is back in court next month to face the ongoing domestic charges.
