Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds must be very busy being an in-demand actor and promoting his upcoming superhero movie "Deadpool." Hence, being a new dad to his baby daughter James, who just celebrated her first birthday with wife Blake Lively, is always going to be his priority. Reynolds recently gave an insightful interview about fatherhood and remembering his own dad.
The celebrity told Men's Health (via Yahoo) that he is amazed how he always finds a way to keep on going as a parent despite the difficulties. He shared that he has not gotten much sleep in the past few months and he has started to hallucinate because of it. "Have a kid and see what it's like to be awake for a month straight. You'll have moments where you're like, 'Did I really ride a unicorn to work? I'm pretty sure I didn't, but I don't know.'"
Reynolds also shared how protective he is of his little baby girl. He checks on her every night by putting his fingers under the baby's nose to see if she is breathing properly. "I feel like it might be a little bit insane."
James Chester Reynolds, the star's father who battled Parkinson's Disease for 20 years, died last October at the age of 79. "We had a deeply complicated relationship and it leaves behind some questions that are still being answered," Reynolds revealed about his dad. "Not just about him but, you know... how I'm trying to get better at being a dad and a husband and a man."
In another interview with GQ (via E Online), Ryan Reynolds expressed that he is very surprised with how patient he is with his daughter. The "Deadpool" lead actor shared that he does not mind not having a nanny for his kid. He also does not have any problem with waking up a couple of times every night to change diapers and still have a smile on his face all throughout. "It's just us right now, and I love it."
